Siding installation, replacement and repair

Siding is the largest visible surface of most houses. Whether you are replacing it entirely, matching a damaged section or cladding an addition, the details at corners, windows and trim are what make it look finished.

Overview

Faded, cracked or warped siding affects more than appearance. Gaps and failed trim let water into the wall, and that is where expensive problems start.

We approach siding projects by looking at the whole envelope: what the existing siding is hiding, how the windows and doors are trimmed, and how water is managed behind the new cladding.

Scope

What siding can include

  • Full siding replacement

Removing old siding, inspecting the sheathing, adding house wrap or flashing where needed and installing new cladding.

  • Section repairs and matching

Replacing storm-damaged or rotted sections and sourcing the closest available match to the existing profile and color.

  • Trim, corners and soffits

Window and door trim, corner boards, fascia and soffits that frame the siding and close off weak points.

  • Additions and new walls

Cladding new construction so it ties cleanly into the existing house.

  • Material changes

Planning a switch between materials — for example, from aging wood to fiber cement or vinyl — including the trim changes that come with it.

Permits and licensed-trade requirements depend on your project and municipality and are confirmed in each written scope.

Before you reach out

Questions worth thinking about

  • Is the goal a full transformation, or repairing specific damaged areas?
  • Do you know what the current siding is made of?
  • Have you noticed soft spots, rot or water stains inside on exterior walls?
  • Are windows or doors being replaced at the same time? (It is often better to coordinate.)

Not sure about some of these? That is fine — we can work through them together.

Cost factors

What affects the price

Every property is different, so we do not publish set prices. These are the factors that move the number most.

Wall area and stories
Square footage and height drive material and staging needs.
Material and profile
Vinyl, fiber cement and wood differ in material cost, installation method and finishing.
Removal and sheathing repairs
What is found behind the old siding can add repair work.
Trim complexity
Many windows, bump-outs and corners mean more detailed trim work.
Matching existing siding
Repairs that must blend with discontinued products take extra sourcing time.

Process

How a project moves forward

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about the project

Use the form to share the service, location and what you want to change. Photos help but are optional.

  2. Step 2

    Initial conversation

We review your request and follow up to ask questions and confirm whether the project is a good fit.

  3. Step 3

    Site visit when needed

Most projects need an in-person look before a firm scope can be written. Visits are scheduled by mutual confirmation.

  4. Step 4

    Written scope and estimate

You receive a written description of the proposed work and price for review. Nothing is binding until a contract is signed.

  5. Step 5

    Scheduling and the work

Start dates, permits and selections are confirmed in writing before work begins.

  6. Step 6

    Final walkthrough

We walk the finished work with you and address punch-list items.

Siding projects usually start with a walk-around to measure walls, note problem areas and discuss material options before a written scope is prepared.

This is our proposed process. Timing, visits and terms are confirmed for each project in writing.

FAQ

Siding questions

Can you match my existing siding for a repair?

Often a close match is possible, but older or discontinued profiles and sun-faded colors may not match exactly. We will tell you what is realistically available before work begins.

Which siding material is best?

It depends on budget, maintenance expectations and the look of the house. We can walk through the trade-offs between common options without pushing a single product.

Should I replace windows before new siding?

If windows are near the end of their life, coordinating both projects avoids disturbing new trim later. We can discuss sequencing during the estimate.

Is a permit required for siding?

That depends on your municipality and the scope. It is confirmed for your project before scheduling.

Exterior Renovation

Porch rebuilds, trim and fascia, railings, entry updates and related exterior carpentry.

Roofing

Leak investigation, shingle repairs and full replacement inquiries for homes and small properties.

Concrete & Masonry

Walkways, patios, pavers, brick and block repair and low garden or retaining walls.
