Bathroom remodeling

From replacing a dated vanity to gutting the room down to the studs, bathroom projects come in very different sizes. Tell us what you want to change and we will help you scope it properly — including the waterproofing you never see.

Overview

Bathrooms are small rooms with a lot going on: water supply and drains, ventilation, waterproofing, tile and fixtures all have to come together in a tight space.

We plan around how the bathroom is used — a busy family bath, a primary suite, a powder room or a rental unit — and we put extra attention on what happens behind the tile, because that is what keeps a new bathroom from turning into a repair a few years later.

Scope

What bathroom remodeling can include

  • Full bathroom remodel

Demolition to the studs where needed, updated plumbing and electrical by appropriately licensed trades, waterproofing, tile, vanity, fixtures and finishes.

  • Tub-to-shower conversions

Replacing a tub with a walk-in shower, including drain relocation, waterproofing and glass.

  • Walk-in and curbless showers

Showers planned for easy entry, with careful attention to slope and waterproofing.

  • Tile updates

New wall and floor tile, niches and accent details.

  • Vanity, toilet and fixture replacement

Smaller updates that refresh a bathroom without moving plumbing.

Permits and licensed-trade requirements depend on your project and municipality and are confirmed in each written scope.

Before you reach out

Questions worth thinking about

  • Is this a full remodel, a shower or tub change, or a cosmetic refresh?
  • Will the layout stay the same, or do you want to move the toilet, shower or vanity?
  • Who uses this bathroom — family, guests, an older relative, tenants?
  • Is it the only bathroom in the home? (That affects scheduling.)

Not sure about some of these? That is fine — we can work through them together.

Cost factors

What affects the price

Every property is different, so we do not publish set prices. These are the factors that move the number most.

Scope level
A fixture swap, a shower conversion and a full gut remodel are very different projects.
Plumbing changes
Relocating drains and supply lines adds labor and may affect floors or walls below.
Tile selection and layout
Tile type, size and pattern change both material and installation time.
Shower glass and fixtures
Frameless glass, thermostatic valves and specialty fixtures vary widely.
Hidden conditions
Water damage or outdated plumbing discovered during demolition may add work.

Process

How a project moves forward

  1. Step 1

    Tell us about the project

Use the form to share the service, location and what you want to change. Photos help but are optional.

  2. Step 2

    Initial conversation

We review your request and follow up to ask questions and confirm whether the project is a good fit.

  3. Step 3

    Site visit when needed

Most projects need an in-person look before a firm scope can be written. Visits are scheduled by mutual confirmation.

  4. Step 4

    Written scope and estimate

You receive a written description of the proposed work and price for review. Nothing is binding until a contract is signed.

  5. Step 5

    Scheduling and the work

Start dates, permits and selections are confirmed in writing before work begins.

  6. Step 6

    Final walkthrough

We walk the finished work with you and address punch-list items.

Bathroom estimates go faster with photos of the room, approximate dimensions and a list of what you want to change. A site visit confirms plumbing and floor conditions.

This is our proposed process. Timing, visits and terms are confirmed for each project in writing.

FAQ

Bathroom Remodeling questions

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

Duration depends on scope, selections and permitting. We give you a realistic schedule for your project once the scope is defined, rather than a generic promise.

Can you convert my tub into a walk-in shower?

In most cases, yes. The drain location, floor structure and waterproofing approach determine how the conversion is done.

Do bathroom remodels require permits in New Jersey?

Plumbing and electrical changes commonly require permits, but requirements depend on the scope and municipality. They are confirmed for your specific project.

What if this is our only bathroom?

Tell us early. Sequencing can sometimes keep a toilet usable for part of the project, and we will be clear about when the room will be unavailable.
